Engagement Cakes in Rotterdam: Celebrate Your Yes

Engagement cakes tend to lean romantic. That's fine, but "romantic" doesn't have to mean a mountain of pink roses. Some of the best designs we've made in Rotterdam are surprisingly simple.

A single-tier cake with smooth buttercream in white or blush, finished with fresh flowers or a gold "engaged" topper. Clean lines, minimal fuss. It looks expensive and photographs well for those inevitable Instagram posts.

Heart-shaped cakes are popular and we get asked about them often. We make them in both standard sizes. They're a clear signal of the occasion without needing any text on the cake itself.

For larger engagement parties, a two-tier cake gives more visual impact and feeds more people. We usually suggest the bottom tier in one flavor and the top in another — guests get to choose.

The setting changes what works. A small engagement dinner at home calls for a different cake than a big family party in a rented hall.

For home celebrations, a 16-20 cm cake for 8-12 people hits the right size. You want enough for everyone to have a slice, but the cake shouldn't dominate the table.

We need at least one week for engagement cakes. If you want a custom design with specific decorations or a two-tier cake, allow two weeks. Share a few inspiration images when you order — Pinterest boards, photos from other celebrations, or just a description of what you're imagining.
